There are 1,792 steps to the top of the Eiffel Tower

For all of you reading this in a reader, be sure to hop on out & check out my blog!  I gave it a liiiiiiiiiiittle bit of an update.  Let me know what you think!

Today Keith, my sister, her friend & I are going to be headed to Toronto.  ...Along with 50,000 people to watch UFC... We aren't going to see the UFC fight (ha.  Noooooooooo way...), my sister is going to a concert & Keith and I are going to hang out with his friends.  Probably end up at a bar and watch the fight (...oh well.).  I think we're heading down soon so I'm hoping to do a little bit of shopping!  Maybe pick out a pair of shoes or a new bag for Europe (I want a cross body bag... easier on my shoulders!  My bags are always SO heavy.)?

I have some blog posts in the works... I'm going to start a new little "feature"... things that I want to do over the summer!  I'm going to create a list, probably a biiiiig list and then document all of the things that I do on my blog!  Sort of like one of those 101 in 1,001 day things.  Except this will be a summer version.  Do yuo guys have any suggestions for things to do this summer?  I'd love to hear them!  things that can be done in any city.  (Or in Southern Ontario!  Or maybe as far as Ottawa or Montreal?  Or Chicago?  I have no idea where this summer will take me!)  I'd love to get some more suggestions.  I have a good idea of some things that I want to do, but I'm always down to add more to the list!

One last thing!  If anyone is interested in extremely affordable sponsorship for my blog for the month of May (and if you want to enter the giveaway of random items I'll be collecting in Europe!) then send me an e-mail and I'll send you all of the information you need!  Sponsoring my blog will include a feature blog post, and you have the option of hosting a giveaway!  Just send an e-mail to hollcrawford(at)

Did you guys watch the Royal Wedding?  Because I totally didn't... haha.

The pupil of the eye expands as much as 45 percent when a person looks at something pleasing

Something I really need to buy before I go to Europe is a comfy pair of shoes.  I'm going to be doing a tonnnnnnn of walking, and I don't really have any shoes that are too comfortable.  Do you have any suggestions for what I should check out?  I'm going to be bringing my Toms, but I wore those a bit when I was in Chicago last summer & they weren't too comfy after a day full of walking.  Usually I just switch between those & a pair of flip flop sandals... ha.  I've been checking out some different websites, here are some shoes I've found... ha as you can see, they aren't the best for a lot of walking!  But I like 'em... I'd love to hear your suggestions if you know of a good pair of shoes (that look nice!) for doing a lot of walking.

blowfish shoes (I like these in whiskey)

Hahaha yeah, those definitely aren't what I picture when I hear "walking shoes", but oh well!  I like 'em.  And now for the winner of the giveawaaaaaaaaaaay...!

Miss Kait is the winner!  Congratulations!

If you are interested in sponsoring my blog for the month of May (and being entered in the giveaway to win a bunch of random items that I'm going to be picking up all throughout Europe!) then comment here, or send me an e-mail to hollcrawford(at)

I have finally decided to start having sponsors on my blog!  For the first two months, I'm going to do something a little special... everyone who sponsors my blog (for May and June) will be entered into a giveaway.  The winner (or maybe winners!  I might have two winners.  We'll see!) will win a bunch of items that I'm going to be picking up while I'm away in Europe! So, I can't tell you what you will win yet, because KI can't see (that far) into the future.

To celebrate having sponsors on my blog, I want to have a giveaway for everyone!  This will be a giveaway for an ad spot on my blog for the month of May! It will include a sponsor post and you can also host a giveaway on my blog!

Here are all of the ways to enter:
1.  Tell me a random fact about yourself!  (hahaha I love these.  Counts as 1 entry.)
2.  Follow my blog.  (1 entry)
3.  Tweet about this giveaway.  (1 entry)
Check out the giveaway @Hllly is having:

Good luck!

There is a type of Italian wine called "Vigneti di Moron."

Sooooooooo... you guys.  I'm going to Europe in just over a month.  AHHHHHHHHHHHH.  I can't waiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.  I'm going to be picking up some things from all of the places I'm visiting (Paris, Milan, Cinque Terre, Nice, Monaco, Geneva, Provence... oh and Evian Les Bains... the place where Evian was created!  Or... from.  Whatever.  Ha.)  and doing an awesome giveaway!  There will be more information about that soon... but I'm so excited!

This weekend I feel like I've been soooo busy!  It's Easter weekend (um, not that I needed to mention that... I'm pretty sure everyone already knows that, ha.) and I've been pretty busy every day!  Last night I went to Keith's aunts house with his sister's and his mom for pizza and we made some origami cranes.  Afterwards De and I went back to her house and hung out with her friend Jess & watched Extras.  (I loooooooooove Ricky Gervais!)  The weather has been pretty lousy here lately... (but I think it's been like that in most places, so oh well!) but today it was such a nice day.  De, Sam & I went to Hamilton today to Goodness Me, a health food market.  We spent soooooo much time there!  It reminded me a lot of Trader Joe's (ahhhhhh I miss Trader Joe's so much...).  Afterwards we went to Chapter's.  I could spend (and have) hours inside of Chapter's.  I recently discovered the sudoku section... hahaha.  I love it.

Okay... so  I was all ready to tell you guys this awesome (and totally freaky) story that I heard, but first I told it to Keith... and apparently it's one of those "fake" stories that everyone and their brother has heard.  One of those stories where the person always tells you it was one of their close friends that it happened to.  UGH.  Haha.  I was so pumped to tell you guys.  Oh well, I'm still going to tell people in person about it!  Ha.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Don't click this if you're craving something sweet or chocolately...

Does anyone know why they only sell Cadbury Creme Eggs around Easter?  Everyone seems to love them... why not sell them year round?  Haha.  I loooooooooooove love LOVE them, and lately I've been seeing a ton of delicious desserts with them.  Yum!   And the Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurries from Mcdonalds?  Mmm!  I have now had two, (special thanks to Sam & Nat for going out to get some the other night!) although the other night they kind of messed up & put waaaay too much chocolate in (yes, there is such a thing as too much chocolate...) and not enough of the cream stuff.  Anyway, check out these recipes, and if you make some please send some to me!  Haha.

If you are right handed, you will tend to chew your food on your right side. If you are left handed, you will tend to chew your food on your left side.*

It has taken me, um, last July, but I have finally updated my about me page!  I'm warning you  now though, it's probably the worst about me page that you have ever read.  Haha.

I'm not sure how much I believe the fact I posted for the title.  I'm left handed (YES.  Who else out there is left handed?  Haha anytime I'm watching TV or a movie & I see that someone is left handed I always have to point it out, and from then on I just like that person a little bit more.) and I think I chew food on the right side of my mouth a bit more... but maybe it's just food that I don't like on the right side?  I know when I'm eating jalepeno or other hot peppers I just chew it on the right side.  Maybe I'm trying to save my left side from getting too hot.  Who knows.

... I can't believe I just typed an entire paragraph about chewing food.  Actually, I kind of can.  Ha.  Anyway, enjoy these random photos that have absolutely nothing to do with this blog post!

I woudl totally play/buy this.
I really want to do this a few times this summer.  I think my next post may be a list of things to do this summer.

There's a basketball court hidden inside Disneyland's Matterhorn Mountain

The other day my sister sent me photos of a bunch of strange shoes, haha.  Check them out!  Are there any that you would actually wear?  My favourite are the ones with the gum, hahaha.  I would totally wear those!  Not that I ever wear high heels, but I might make an exception just to try these ones out.  I also really like the slingshot ones, ha.

If you want a revolution...

This song has been stuck in my head since I heard it for the first time, um, yesterday.  But I really, really like it.  So, enjoy:
Haha. Anyway, today is McDonalds day. Or, actually McDonalds' birthday. Today I wanted to try a Cadbury Cream Egg McFlurry (I didn't even know these EGG-sisted until the other day.) and they were sold out! AH! Bummer! I think I may have to hit up another McDonalds later on today & see if they still have some. I looooove Cadbury Cream Eggs... and I don't remember the last time I had a McFlurry.  Anyway, I'm off to listen to this song over & over again (Do you guys do that too?  When you find a song that you really like you listen to it over & over again?  For... um, weeks?  Ha!) and do some knitting!

International Moment of Laughter Day!

Today's holiday reminded me of this video:

(Okay, it wasn't actually this one, but it was pretty similar... I just can't find the one I'm talking about.)

Laughter is so contagious!  Seriously, if you just are sitting there & start faking laughing right now, I bet you it will turn into real laughter in no time.  Especially if you are with a group of people.  (You may seem less crazy if you try it around a group of people, instead of sitting alone!  Haha.)  What are some things that never fail to make you laugh?  Any you tube videos that always crack you up?  I'd love to hear them!  Maybe I'll make a giant list of things that make us laugh.  Let me know if you have anything to add!

Happy Scrabble Day with Campfire Chic!

It's Kam again, and I'm back! When was I here last?

March 12: Plant a Flower Day
March 29: Small Business Owners Day

And now I'm here to celebrate an equally awesome holiday...Scrabble Day! How do I want to celebrate today? First, with some wishful thinking: A Scrabble-themed wedding!

One of my girlfriends in grad school is part of a beautiful wedding planning company called Bellz & Whistlez. I love all the beautiful weddings the create...especially the one involving Scrabble! In this story, the groom proposed to his future bride using a Scrabble board so it is only fitting that they have a really awesome Scrabble wedding, right?

First, they invited their guests

They asked their guests to sign in

Then asked the guests to find their seats
[All photos from Bellz & Whistlez blog]

How beautiful, right? I created a new board on my Pinterest just for wedding photos because of these photos!

So, not all of us will get/want the dream wedding, but still want some Scrabble in our lives. How about some beautiful items from one of our favorite online marketplaces?

Azuree is one of my favorite Etsy sellers. She had great taste and is a pleasure to work with. Holly posted about Azuree's cards in the past, and above is a photo of one of her prints. A Scrabble heart!

Looking for something a little cozier?
Scrabble Pillows from Shop Dirtsa

Something close to Holly's heart

And finally, a coffee cozy!

I hope this inspires you to dig out your old Scrabble board,
download the popular phone apps, and get your spelling on.
Thank you, Holly, for letting me take over yet again.

Grilled Cheese Day & Look Up in the Sky Day!

Today is a pretty awesome day. The warm weather has finally decided to hit southern Ontario.  Sunday it was especially warm out, it was at least 20*!  So nice.  It's nice that Keith is still off from work for the winter time, because we get to go out during the day & do things.  In a little bit I think we're going to go see one of the many waterfalls nearby.   If I wasn't so lazy right now (ha!) I would pack us a little picnic lunch.  But, you know, it's me... soo... (Maybe we'll stop at Licks later, ha!) Actually... I think I might just go make myself a grilled cheese sandwich.  But what kind?  Check out all of these tasty recipes:

I need an invervention...

... for Sudoku.  (And maybe Pinterest.  I was going to knit tonight, but then next thing I knew I was getting sucked into all of the wonderful images on Pinterest.  Ever have that happen to you?)

Seriously.   I don't dream anymore (Okay, that is a huge lie.  I still have crazy dreams every single night...), I just play Sudoku games in my sleep.  My dreams are just one big Sudoku game.  At least once a night I play a game in my sleep.  Ever since I discovered the Sudoku section (by the way, I don't understand why my computer is telling me sudoku has to be capitalized!  So strange...) at the book store I spend at least 10 minutes flipping through the books.  And I have to buy a new one every time I go.  I found an awesome wipe-on/wipe-off Sudoku book last time!  When I discovered a 16x16 puzzle I was in heaven!!  Haha.  Do any of you guys love Sudoku as much as I do?  Or are there any similar games/puzzles that you are always doing?  Please, someone, tell me you have also had a dream where you have been playing Sudoku... tell me I'm not alone here.

Amazing is all I have to say for these CUPCAKES.

Comics with Moonbeamwishes!

Hey guys! Today I have the wonderful Megan from Moonbeamwishes guest posting!!   Megan is AMAZING.  The other day I received the sweetest package ever from her.  It was filled with candy & tons of other treats.  (Keith LOVED it!  He has such a sweet tooth!)  Be sure to head on over to her blog & go say hi!  But first, read these funny comics!   Which comics are your favourite?  I bought a Foxtrot book years ago, and I still love it.  Haha.  (And of course I love Archie comics, but those are kind of a different type!)

Hello Holly Knitlightly readers!! I am Ms. Megan and I write over at moonbeamwishes.
Today I wanted to share with you one of my many loves.
More specifically:: laughter.
I love to laugh and to read humorous things.
That is why I start off each and every morning with a cup of tea and the comics section of the newspaper.
Here are some funny comics found on GoComics and Comics.
Please enjoy and have a lovely {humorous} day!!!
