Happy Different Coloured Eyes Day!

Soooooo I have been kind of trying to forget this whole part, but two weeks today I will be on an 9 hour plane ride.  AHHHHHHHHH. I am terrified of planes.  I've only flown once (although it was on 4 different planes, ha.) but I don't like it.  It just freaks me out.  And flying over an ocean scares me even more, haha.  I wish I could be this happy about flying:
color me katie
... but I'm not.  Ha.  Share some tips on how to not freak out while flying, please?

And happy Different Coloured Eyes Day, to my main man Bowie!!

  1. Hummm I don't know how to help cause I LOVE planes and flying haha. It wont help you this time, but I recommend that you get this book http://www.theflyingbook.com/ it will most likely put your worries at ease!

  2. I wish I could come hehe, I would calm you down :] I was terrified of flying too, but it's really not that bad once you get up in the air. It just feels like riding a bus to me. It also helped me to remember that I was waaaay more likely to die in a car crash than a plane crash :]

  3. Once you're up in the air, it's really not that bad.... flying is also not my favorite, but I have to do it regularly to see my family. The destination makes it worth it ;)
(P.S. They have plenty of movies to watch on board, so I am not worried you'll be able to pass the time quickly ;)).

  4. maybe find ways to occupy or distract yourself while you're on the plane? long flights like this..i tend to sleep a lot or watch movies. or read. anything, really! i'll send some good thoughts your away.

  5. i HATE flying too!!! blarg! a week ago today i flew back to england {which was a 9 hour flight}. my nerves were pretty shot the whole time. i normally take two Tylenol pm's before boarding the plane and it works like a charm! maybe you could try that???

  6. I have never been on a plane before, so I really can not give you any advice. Sorry! I am sure everything will go alright though. PS I never knew that Mr. Bowie had different colored eyes! Cool!!! xo

  7. i love to fly!

my dad is an engineer and works for a company that makes (get this) sensors that go on airplane sensors. yes. sensors for sensors.

as in there are sensors all over the plane to measure all the different things-- fuel, wings, and other complex things. THEN there are senors to go on the sensors, a double precaution if those sensors should fail.

when you get in your car, you rarely check anything-- tire pressure, coolant, etc. when you get in a plane, everything is checked a million times over! even the little sensors.

i trust my dad completely when he says that it is FAR more safer to fly than drive. and he should know.

you'll prob be flying on a plane w/ sensors to the sensors that his company made. :)

  8. I agree with Lindsey - you are far more likely to die in a car crash than a plane crash. I've flown to England and back twice, and I just try to keep myself occupied. There's lots of inflight entertainment, or I just try to sleep. And remember that your destination is totally worth it. You're going to PARIS! Take me with you? (I've only been once...my advice? Eat lots of pastries!)
