Window Shopping, Part 2!

Hey guys!  I think I'm going to go "window shopping" every Wednesday on my blog!  Mostly because Wednesday and Window both start with "W"... ha!  Anyway, here is part 2!  Let me know in the comments what you have been dreaming about owning!

Recipes To Try, Part 1!

Hey guys!  I thought of yet another new blog feature to start up.  There are so many recipes that I have stumbled upon online (seriously.  You should see my bookmarks.) and I really want to start making them instead of just drooling over the photos.  I'm going to share a list of some recipes and then I'm actually going to make them and do a little review of how they turned out.  Maybe if enough people are interested, we can do a monthly challenge link-up thing?  Let me know if you would be interested!

Every month we could pick a certain number of recipes to try (maybe one for each week of the month?  Or more if you are up for more of a challenge!) and then blog about your results.   Hopefully some of you guys are into that idea!  They don't have to be hard recipes at all!  It's mostly just to help you get inspired to start making the recipes that you are always looking at and saving for another day.

I want to start getting more involved with you guys and my blog, and this would also help out with my terrible food photography.  Ha.  I totally need to practice!  Anyway, here is my list for the month!  (And, um, I realize that the month of July is almost over... but I don't want to wait to share this new idea with you guys, ha!)

1.  In Southern Ontario corn is finally in season.  Well, almost.  August is usually the start of the season.  Last week I had some locally grown corn that was delicious and it got me excited to start trying out some different recipes starring corn on the cob.  The first is Corn with Cilantro Lime Butter and Cotija Cheese from For the Love of Cooking:
(I've actually never heard of Cotija Cheese before, but a quick google search tells me that it's a Mexican cheese and tastes similar to Parmesean.)
2.  In keeping with the corn on the cob celebration (ha), I want to try this Creamed Summer Corn recipe from the amazingly-talented Tracy of Shutterbean. The ingredients in the two recipes are similar, but the way you cook the corn is different.  I'm curious to see which one I prefer!
3.    This Spaghetti with Lemon & Parmesean from Simply-Delicious sounds... well, simply delicious!  I almost always eat pasta with a tomato sauce that I make and this recipe sounds like a nice (and easy!) change.
4. I have been wanting to make pizza on the BBQ for years! Hopefully committing to it in this new blog challenge will make me finally do it, ha!   I'm going to use my own pizza dough recipe and different toppings, but this recipe from In a Nutshell definitely got my mouth watering.
5.  Unfortunately the only Mexican restaurant in my city is a Taco Bell... and that doesn't even count.  Ha.  Keith & I loooooooove queso sauce but the only kind I can ever find is the stuff made by Tostitos.   Luckily, I cam across this recipe for Queso Blanco Dip by Annie Eats:
6. With all the fresh fruit that is in season right now, this recipe for Fruit Salsa with Baked Cinnamon Chips by the Girl Who Ate Everything would be absolutely perfect:

7.  Now I need some sort of new drink to make to go along with all of these new dishes.  Strawberry Iced Tea by Room For Dessert sounds just right:
(By the way, recipe is looking like suuuuuuuuuch a weird word right now!  I have said it in my head/typed it way too much just now and it seems like it is spelled wrong!  Haha.  Does that ever happen to you?)

Monday's Finds, Part 2

monday
It would be awesome to do something like this all over the world!  A mini CN Tower in front of the CN Tower... Eiffel Tower... Leaning Tower of Pisa... If I ever become rich and travel all over, I'm going to do it!  Haha.
This apartment looks awesome.  I love those stairs!  Although I would probably trip & fall off of them, ha.
Cute little dog just hangin' in the trees.
What an awesome fort.  This makes me want to build one.  The only thing I hated about building forts was cleaning up, haha.  Why can't you keep the fort up forever?!
This photo never fails to make me smile.
I can't wait to go back to Paris.  & do this.
So cute.  They look so cuddly.  I but I know if I saw one coming towards me I would run the other way.
Have you ever slept on a beach before?  I want to sleep on one sooooooooo badly!  I will, one day...
I love this look!  A wall covered in post-its!

Monday's Finds, Part 1

Starting today, every Monday I'm going to post a list of some things that have inspired me over the week/weekend.  Or just random things that I found & thought were funny or worth sharing!  Just a little way to start Mondays off on a good note.  Hmm, maybe I should come up with some sort of catchy title for it... I'll get back to you on that one!  Haha.

Bahahaha!  Sneaky little dog...
Make your own Citronella Candles!  It's so nice to be able to sit outside all night long, but the mosquitoes can be such a pain.  Maybe I'll have to make some of these for the summer time!
This sculpture of Bowie as the Goblin King is awesome!
While we're on the topic of Bowie... here's an awesome journal page I found.   (Can't find the source for this!  If you have it, please let me know!)
Hilarious!
Hahaha.  (Sorry if anyone gets creeped out by photos of spiders!  I'm like that with snakes... anytime I see a blog post with a snake on it I close my eyes & try to exit it!  Hahaha.)
The mullet for your clothes?  Business in front, party in back!
Think Keith would wear these if I made them for him?  Ha!

Window Shopping, Part 1!

I wanted to start a new blog feature up on my blog.  Right now I'm saving money for a couple of things... mainly an iMac.
But, I love looking online and finding new things that I wouldn't mind owning.  Unfortunately an iMac is a pretty big purchase.  So, for now I'll have to just window shop.    The new blog feature is going to be a list of things that I would loooooooove to own!  But for now I'm just going to have to dream about owning them... haha.  I think some weeks I might have a theme (any suggestions on a theme I should try out?) but for the most part it will just be a bunch of random items.  Hope you guys enjoy it!  (And if you would my address to send me any of the items, let me know!  Haha.)

This Cyan necklace by edor would look so pretty paired with a white dress!
This Silver Twig Ring by kateszabone is so unique!
I would love to have this tea town by dearcolleen hanging in the kitchen!
It would be so lovely to send one of these sweet cards by CityofDionne to a friend.  (Or to receive one!)
If I had one of these photos by irenesuchocki hanging in my house it would bring back all of my memories of Paris!  (And make me want to go back even more.)
Sweetpetula's Early Gray Tea shea butter soap sounds so good.  All of her lip balms, lotions and candles do!
These postcard plates by justnoey would be so nice to decorate with!
What are some things you've been eyeing up lately?  I'd love to check it out!

Bugs Bunny was originally “happy rabbit”

Friday was De's family bridal shower!  It was a lot of fun and got me super excited for her bridal shower (for friends) that is coming up on the 24th.  We're having a huge tea party!  I can't wait.  Tonight a bunch of us are getting together and making some decorations and headbands for us to wear.  I'll be sure to bring my camera, ha!  (And good news!  I think I will finally be able to upload photos to this computer!  I found the disc for my camera, ha.  So expect more blog posts & more photos!)  Here are some photos from Friday:
The happy couple!  Haha.  Tim was just there for a few minutes..
Um, excuse the angry look on my face... haha.
These were delicioussssssss.  I think we should make some for her other shower!
