Just before Christmas I found out that my Mom had a 20$ off coupon for Shutterfly. She said I could use it to create my own photo book and it was so much fun! I didn't have much time to work on it because by the time I found out about it, there were only a few days left until the card expired... ha! But I love the way that the book turned out! I decided that at the end of ever year (this book has photos from the past like... 5 years, ha!) I'm going to create a new book with photos from that year. Almost like a yearbook? I'm not into scrapbooking at all, so this is the perfect way to put all of your photos together to make sure that you actually LOOK at them, instead of having them sit on the computer forever. Check out the website! Although, be warned... you might spend hours on the website creating a book! Haha. It's so fun.
ALSO, have you guys noticed that my blog looks a little bit different?! I have Don from the blog Adeline's Daddy to thank for that! He started up a new series on his blog called Blog Design Pointers and I was lucky enough to get some help from him! Be sure to check out his blog and his design work! One day when I have some extra cash I'm definitely going to hire him to do a full blog re-design! I just love his work!

Wow! Love this photo book! It is absolutely incredible. AND you look so pretty on every one of those photos! I'm a little bit jealous of you when it comes to that!!
ReplyDeleteYour new blog look is delightful! (I've really started to love blogs that don't have a top header, but a logo on the sidebar instead - just a little bit different form everyone else!)
Aww, thank you so much Anna! You should definitely look into making a book! You could fill it with so many of your pretty photos!
DeleteThanks for the compliments about my blog! I'm so bad when it comes to designing things like that, I know what I want but I just have no idea how to put it together... haha. But I'm liking it!
LOVE the new subtle tweaks to the blog! That knitted background compliments what your blog is about perfectly.
ReplyDeleteAlso I've never used Shutterfly, but I got some coupons from shopping at maternity stores (??). Was it easy to use/expensive?
Thanks Kayla! Isn't the background awesome?! I love it!!
DeleteHaha that's awesome you got some coupons from maternity stores. I guess to put your baby's first year in a book? I think I spent about 20$ on top of the 20$ coupon, and that included shipping (to Canada.). It was a lot lower, but then I kept thinking "Ooh I'll get this hard cover instead... ooh and I'll make it a bit bigger. Okay, a bit bigger than that... No... a bit bigger..." hahaha. But it's so worth it! Especially if I make one only once a year? That's awesome! I might make two this year... one from my Europe trip and one of a re-cap of my whole year.
Wow, I love it! It's really wonderful! What a great idea! I think I need one of my own now, too! Awesome! xxx
ReplyDeleteYou should totally make one! Just "designing" it is fun enough, and then when you have the finished product in your hands it's awesome! And everyone loves getting a chance to look at it! Great coffee table books!
DeleteI got a coupon from my mom too! and then I realized a week after it was expired that i didnt use it lol the blog looks great! I'll have to check out his tips!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh what a bummer that it was expired! Haha. I lucked out and had a few days until mine expired. You should check it out anyways, though! It's so awesome to have a hard cover booked filled with photos of you. Bahahahaha self-centered, much?!
Deletewow they turned out really well! I want a photobook now but first I need to take more pictures! and the blog looks cute. I wanna make do a blog overhaul too but don't know where to start and Im strapped for cash at the mo'. Maybe one day. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Sal! I'm actually going to get started creating a new book today, just with photos that I've already taken this year. Then as the year goes on I'm going to add to it & print it at the end of December/early January! That way I won't be totally overwhelmed at the end of the year going through all of my photos!
DeleteI totally suggest checking out the blog that I linked to - http://www.adelinesdaddy.com/. He will give you some blog pointers for what to do with the layout you've already got!
Super cute photo book Holly!!! I love it!! I really want to do something like this!! PS I am loving your new blog look!! It is subtle but really lovely!!! I hope you have a fantastic day dear!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteAww thanks Megan! You should definitely look into making one! I can just picture your book now - filled with cute crafts that you've made & your adorable kitties!

ReplyDeleteOoh thank you so much! Be sure to take photos of yours once it's finished, I'd love to look at it!
DeleteCute book! I would definitely love to get one to catalog all of my photos!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your new blog look! It's very cute and I love the colors, as usual. :]
Thanks so much Allie! I'm glad I discovered that website, because my photos would just sit on my computer (well, my sister's! Ha.) and never be looked at! I'm not the greatest at printing out photos. But this way you don't really have to do a whole lot! Haha.
Deleteit is a lovely idea to do one every year, I have a hard drive full of photos so I can't imagine how many books I would take up :/
ReplyDeleteYour book(s) would be SO pretty! The great thing about this is you can add as many pages as you'd like! You should look into ti!
DeleteA yearbook! That's brilliant! I just saw a deal on WagJag today for a photobook and I was thinking about grabbing it. I'm going to go back have another look. I'm feeling pretty inspired after seeing this one. ♥
ReplyDeleteOoh do it!! It's so nice to be able to sit down and look at photos instead of sitting around a computer screen, ha! And my Nana LOVES it, I think I might make one for her birthday. (Whoa, thinking ahead... her birthday is in SEPTEMBER, ha! Maybe I'll do it for Mother's Day...)
DeleteI have to check out that coupon on wagjag! I love me some coupons!
That photo book is beautiful! I am planning to make my own at the end of the year :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Larisa! I can't wait to see yours!
DeleteThis is the coolest present ever?
ReplyDeleteIs that your boyfriend? You are the cutest pair!
It would be such a great present for someone! I'm thinking of making my Nana one!
Deletehaha that's my boyfriend Keith! Thanks!
What a lovely book! Most of the photo books I've seen have been kind of terrible, but I love how simple this one is.
ReplyDeleteI like your new background :) very suited to you.
Thanks, Courtney! I love that you can pick different "layouts" for each page! It's so fun creating it, haha.
DeleteIsn't the new background perfect?! I love it!
