The 1AM Promise

The other day I came across a really awesome idea.  The idea is to purchase one handmade item a month.  It's called the 1AM promise.  Purchase anything, big or small, once a month from a handmade artist and it helps to keep that artist in business.  Isn't that simple?  If you only have a few extra dollars to spend a month, just buy something small.  Or you can set aside a bit more money some months to buy something larger for yourself (or someone else).  Plus, that way you are guaranteed to get mail at least once a month!  Who doesn't love mail?

So the month of March is when I'm going to start doing this.  I have quite a long Etsy wishlist (ha), and it seems like almost every day I find something new I would love to buy for myself or for someone else.  One of my favourite things on blogs is when they post photos of packages they've received in the mail, so I'm going to be posting photos of all of the items that I buy!  Now, time to look for the first item I'm going to buy!

Are any of you going to "sign up" for this? Even by just buying something small, you will help a handmade artist!  I know how excited I get when I receive an order in my inbox, so I'm so glad I get the chance to give others that feeling!

  1. This is a good idea. I'm bad at buying handmade - I love looking and wishing, but when it comes time that I actually thinking about buying something I usually go where things are cheaper, i.e. usually not a handmade artist. So maybe this is something I should do. Good idea, Holls.

  4. I love this idea (being a handmade artist myself!) :) I probably already do it, but it is a good thing to consciously remember to do monthly.
