Pieces of Yarn

Remember this blanket?  One of the few that I wanted to finish up.  My Nana was over one night & asked for a needle so she could start sewing in the ends for me.  Then, she offered to take it home and finish it up for me.  A few days later all the ends were sewn in.  (She's faaaaaaast!  I had that blanket sitting in a basket for a few years!  haha.)  She also gave me a bag with all of the ends, and wanted me and my family to guess how many there were.  Whoever was closest would win 5$.
How many would you think there are?  We weren't close, at ALL.  My sister won and she was off by a few hundred!  Haha.  My Nana wrote down the actual number:
Like she said, she must really love me to sew in 678 pieces of yarn!  Haha.
