The Queen's Quartz!

On July 1st, Nat, Carli & I helped De with her booth at the Canada Day Festival in Brantford.  She sold stuff for her work - the Tip Top Health Shoppe, and for her shop - The Queen's Quartz!  Lots of magical crystals, plus some necklaces that she made and these really pretty clear quartz earrings.

It was suuuuuuuuuuuuch a hot day but it was filled with lots of good junk food (poutine, hot dogs, cotton candy, slushies... of course!) and we all had a good time just hanging out.  Keith, Tim & Kris joined us later on that night and hung out.  Plus these two adorable kids came by and wanted to learn about every single crystal De has.

I'm super pumped to be sharing a booth with De in Toronto on August 18th.  And we learned a few things from Canada Day, like make sure to have chairs & bring some candles for when it gets darker!  haha.

Do you guys have any tips for selling stuff at a street fair?  Have you ever done a craft show or anything like that?  What would be some of your MUST BRING items?

  5. Make sure you bring snacks and drinks! And change. And a change belt/fanny pack/apron to put the cash in. I have done shows with a money belt, and with a money box, and the belt is WAY easier. Less to worry about!

  6. Something to keep you entertained when the crowd hasn't picked up in the early hours like a book or an iPod with games, some beverages, a camera for documenting the day (but you already know that!) bring supplies for slower hours as well so you can make stuff on the spot and that way some one may not see something on the table they like but what you're making might attract them and become a sale, plus it also shows people you make everything yourself and they will see it's worth the price. Also try to minimize booth decor items, i learnt this the hard way as I do love conveying a theme but in the end I would rather focus on the product than having to send people away for thinking my table was some sort of antique market/asking about every little item on the table that wasn't something I made!
