Day 1 in the City of the Big Nickel!

We got stopped by trains a few times.  WHY do cities have trains running right through the middle of cities?  BUILD BRIDGES!!  haha.
Super over-priced breakfast.
It looked like the Eiffel Tower.  Kinda.

The 4D movie!
A stick bug!
A whale.
A smelly little porcupine!
Rosie the skunk!
Kris got super into DJing.
We were news anchors.  Kind of.
So the other weekend Keith, Nat, Kris & I went away to Sudbury!  We got up around 2am and headed out for the 5+ hour drive.  Once we got there we had a few hours to kill, so we went out for breakfast.  We checked into the hotel, hung out for a little bit & headed to see THE BIG NICKEL!!  Haha. This was the last time I went to it:
Hahaha.  Anyway, so we hung out there, took some photos of Kris & Keith pretending to hold it... tried to get about 10 group photos & only one turned out.  The majority of the photos were of me walking away from the camera, ha.  They went down into the mine on the tour, but I stayed above ground & panic attack free with a book and some crocheting, ha.  Plus they had free wi-fi!  So, I probably did something boring like played mahjong on my phone.

Right after we went to the Big Nickel, we headed to Science North.  We decided to get tickets to the 6pm Planetarium show, so we had a few hours to explore the museum!  Right away we went into the 4D theatre to watch a movie about forest fires.  We were there at the perfect time, the four of us were the only ones in the whole theatre.  A 4D movie is a movie that's in 3D, but the seats move, they have wind that blows around, you get splashed by water, there's fog machines, and all kinds of stuff.  It's awesome.  Bahaha I was so giddy & laughed so hard whenever anything happened.  At one point they showed a snake slithering around and so I was completely grossed out (I have a GIANT fear of snakes.  I can't even look at a photo of a snake without shivering and wanting to close my eyes.) and then all you heard was hissing & there was this piece of leather underneath our chairs that whipped your legs!  HAHAHA oh man I pulled my legs up onto the chair so quickly.  The 4D movie was awesome.

After that, we headed up a floor & saw all kinds of different bugs.  Kris held that giant stick bug, then a tarantula.  There was also a room filled with butterflies.  On the next floor we saw a beaver swimming around, a smelly porcupine and an adorable skunk named Rosie.  Every 15-30 minutes they seem to have a different activity, and we were there for the skunk petting/feeding.  I wish I had some better photos of us petting the skunk.  She was adorable & so soft!  After I pet her I stood up & looked behind me and someone was holding a freaking SNAKE.  So I got the hell out of there & went back over to the porcupine, ha!  Nat, Kris & Keith stuck around the snake for a bit longer and held it.  Gross!

There were a lot of interactive things for us to try out.  Kris & Keith had a blast doing the DJ thing, haha.  That was pretty hilarious to watch.  And the Planetarium was a lot of fun.  I had to close my eyes every other minute or so because I would get super dizzy... but it was interesting to learn about the weather on all of the different planets.

If you're ever in Sudbury I highly suggest checking out Science North! We had a ton of fun checking everything out.
