Yogurt & Brussels Sprouts?

Man, I love brussels sprouts.  The other day I decided to roast them in the oven instead of making them on the stove like I usually do.  It's soooo much easier to just coat them in olive oil, put some salt & pepper on them and throw them in the oven for 15-20ish minutes, or until they get nice & brown.  I love the dressing from the brussels sprout salad that I make from Shutterbean, so I mixed it with that afterwards.  I also add in a bit of honey, then throw in some Parmesan cheese & it gets all nice and melted and delicious.  I ate it with some Greek salad... yum.

The other day I dipped some frozen blueberries, raspberries & blackberries in some vanilla yogurt.  I just used a toothpick to pick up the berries, so I had to wait a bit until they thawed out a bit.  And as you can see, I'm pretty messy, ha.  They were really good, though.  I have to say I preferred the ones that were just yogurt (you can kind of see them at the back, I ran out of berries.  Well, I just had a bit of extra yogurt.) with a hint of berry flavour (from dipping all of the berries into the yogurt).   I totally ate them all up in one sitting while doing some blog reading, ha.  I'll probably be making these again!

Have you tried any new recipes lately?  I know that these aren't really "recipes", but they are two "newish" things that I tried.  Okay, that's enough with the quotation marks, ha.  Let me know what new recipes you've tried lately or some recipes you can't wait to try out!

A Peek at My Week... 14!

Delicious watermelon, Jun'i, crocheting blankets (I think this month I've set a new record!), all 3 cats eating & a bunny in my Nana's backyard.
Keith's background on his computer.  I didn't even have to make him do it!  Haha.  They are the hoops that Cathy created for us, you can buy your own custom ones in her shop!
JuneBug, Steve & Toki hanging out.
Juice & chicken fingas.
Babysitting some adorable monkeys.
Alpaca shearing!  (I'll be doing a full post about it soon.)
Ahhh I love this photo of Squirty... haha.  She lost those bottom two teeth & I FINALLY have a photo that captures it!
Got to hang out with these two adorable kids!  I have a bunch of photos from this, but since this post already has a ton I'll save it for another day, ha!
It looks like I've done a ton of stuff this week, ha!  I'm glad that I took so many photos.  I've got a ton of photos of all of the cats, Tim & De get home on Sunday.  Keith & I are going to the airport to pick them up & I'm excited to hear all of their stories from their trip!  I'm not sure what else we're doing this weekend.  We finished Sons of Anarchy & started and finished Lilyhammer (I think I mentioned that already?), so this week we started Life.  They're all on Netflix, ha.  Canadian Netflix has such a small collection compared to American Netflix.  Oh well, we're slowly catching up with you guys... Do you have any shows to recommend?  For some reason I much prefer TV shows over movies.  Movies seem too long.  I know, that makes no sense, ha.  Oh yeah, I also started Twin Peaks, but Keith isn't watching that with me... I don't think he'd like it, ha.

What are your plans for this weekend?  Did you do anything exciting this week?

So, I don't usually do these types of blog posts, but I figured why not.
Suzy came up with the idea & I saw Alice did it toooo, so here is my post:

rules:
1) post your first ever facebook profile picture.
2) pick one photo {only one} from each consecutive year up to the present one.
3) explain.
From 2006.
I reaaaaaaally did not want to join facebook at first, but then I did & this was my profile picture for a couple of years, ha.   As you can see, I had a "bright idea"... ha?
2008, posing with a painting of myself?  Ha.  & no that's not my number, I don't know who's number that is. Also my hair seems short here!  Haha.
2009.  Me, Keith & Meaghan and someone in the background (no idea who that guy is) photobombing us... haha.
So, I'm going to cheat here because I didn't have a new photo for 2007 and I also don't have a 2012 one... so this one is from 2009, too.  I just really like this photo, ha.  & it was taken by Aaron Ruell, also known as Kip from Napoleon Dynamite.
Also 2009. Keith & I with someone's dog.  I have no idea who's dog it is, ha.
2010.  RIP Gary Coleman.
Also 2010.  Man, I'm not following the rules at allllll, haha!
2011.  Love Mandy Patinkin.
Aaaaand 2011 again, ha.  But it was taken a few years before.
Another 2011.... ha.
And this is my current profile picture.  Although it's from last year.  Keith & I need some newer photos together, haha.
So! I totally didn't follow the rules, ha.  But oh well.  Let me know if you decide to do this!  Leave a link to your post!

Alpacas! Kinda.

Just a quick post (a sneak peek at the alpacas I saw on Saturday!), not having a computer has been pretty tough to get some blog posts up.  Hopefully in the next couple days I'll have a computer again, ha.   Anyway, just decided to pick the winners for the two giveaways I had going on!

The winner for the giveaway from Lesley at Pretty Little Pink Things is Priscilla!  Congratulations!

Aaaaand the winner for free ad space is Elisha!  Congratulations!

What are you guys up to today?  It's finally a nice day out (it's been rainy and we had some flurries the other day!) and I'm heading to a park to hang out with some adorable kids & some pretty all right friends, haha!  I'll be sure to take some photos!  Hope you all have a great day!

That time I went to Holland...

Okay, so maybe I've never been to Holland, but on Sunday after my Mom, Dad & I went to see the alpacas, we stopped in Mount Pleasant at the Windmill for a bite to eat.  That fruit tart reminded me so much of Europe.  & the blueberry dessert things (haha I can't exactly remember what they were called...) was delicious.  That was my first time going to the Windmill, but I can see Keith & I going there after a drive some day.  I'll be sharing the photos of the alpacas soon, it was so interesting to watch!  & they are sooo cute once they're all sheared!

On the weekend my computer stopped working out of no where.  Apparently the motherboard is done.  But, luckily, my Dad found me another tower or whatever and my neighbour is going to move everything I had saved on my computer (mostly just bookmarks & PDFs, as you all know my computer isn't able to upload photos, ha.) so, that's awesome!  And from now on I'm going to figure out a better way to save my bookmarks, ha.  Incase this happens again.  Do you have any suggestions?
