Blueberry Scones!

Remember when I made those strawberry biscuits/scones with the berries I picked in June?  I decided to make some blueberry ones with all of the berries we picked the other day.   I'm not sure which one was more delicious, the strawberries or the blueberries.  SO GOOD.  I highly suggest making these if you have any berries on hand.  So easy to make.  For the blueberry ones, I used a smaller glass to make the biscuits & they expanded quite a bit, and I ended up with more.  So next time I'll be sure to use the smaller glass again.  I also like to sprinkle a little bit of sugar on top of them before I pop them in the oven.

67 years

Today would have been my Nana & Papa's 67th wedding anniversary.  Crazy!  I remember when we had a big party for their 50th anniversary.  I think we went out for dinner for their 60th.

This week was filled with making crocheted bags.  Although I didn't take any photos of those, ha.  I will, this weekend.  The other day De & I got to spend all day with sweet little Sophie!  It's her first birthday on Saturday and I'm so excited for her!  I've been getting her birthday presents in the mail & I can't wait to share photos of what I got with you guys.  I'll be sure to take tons of photos of her party tomorrow.  

Oh & I bought a new pair of shoes!  That's exciting.  They look the exact same as my old ones, except these ones gave me tons of blisters, ha.

The List: Blueberry Picking!

Blueberry picking is a lot of fun!  They are a lot easier to pick than I was expecting.  They grow like grapes, so you just put the bucket below a bunch & pull 'em off.  Keith & I were hoping to go cherry picking on Saturday, but the place was already done for the season.  So on Sunday morning he found a place that isn't too far, and we picked De up & headed out there!  It's nice because you are pretty shaded, too.  Not like strawberry picking when you're not protected from the hot sun at all.   I'm still hoping that we can find a cherry picking farm somewhere around here that still has some cherries left to be picked!  Have you ever gone blueberry picking?  

Next up: raspberries!

100 Letters

One of the goals I have on "the List" is to write 100 letters a year.  I'm not doing too well at it, right now.  Although so far this month has been the best for the goal, I've sent 6 letters out already.  Haha.  But still, I'm pretty far behind if I want to send 100 by the end of this year.  

ANYWAY, so while I was trying to fall asleep last night I came up with this idea.  I want to see if I can send out a letter to every state, every province/territory (Sara's got a friend up in Nunavut I can write a letter to, haha.  So I've got that territory covered at least!) and as many countries as I can.  But, I'm going to need your help... ha.  Because YOU guys are the people that I know in all sorts of states, provinces & countries!  I've already got a few pen pals and stuff in different provinces/states, but I need some more!  So if you guys live in any of the places I don't have crossed off, let me know if you'd like to be pen pals!  Or at least send & receive one letter with me, haha. (If your state/province/country is already crossed off we can totally still be pen pals!  Every letter counts!  Haha.)

Blueberry Fields Forever...

Wrong fruit.  Whatever.  Keith, De & I went blueberry picking yesterday!  (Another thing on the list down!  Woo!  Haha.)  Man, blueberry picking is about 20 times easier than strawberry & raspberry picking.  You can STAND while you do it, haha.  Plus since the bushes are big, you are pretty shaded from the hot sun beating down on you!  & they aren't prickly, like with the raspberries.   So glad we got to go, haha.  

BUT, now I need your help... I have a TON of blueberries!  What to do with them?  Eat them, I know, but do you guys have any delicious recipes that include blueberries?  I'm thinking of making some of these biscuits that I made again, except with blueberries.  But I wanna make some other things, too!  So, I'd love to hear your recipes!   (Also, I've got lots of photos from yesterday, I'm just posting this really early in the morning & I've gotta get to bed!  Haha.  So I'll share those later this week!)

A Peek at My Week... 26!

Keith & I went out for breakfast.  & he's wearing his Tumbleweeds I got him for his birthday!  Now I need to get a pair... haha!

Not a whole lot of photos this week... I don't bring my camera to work with me because, well, there really isn't enough room in my bag for it.  (I have to bring my knitting, of course!)  Plus there isn't really anything to take photos of.  And I would probably get in trouble, ha.  So most of these are from the weekend.  Keith & I got to go out for breakfast one day this week, he had the day off & I don't go in until almost 4pm.  And one day this week De & Carli met me for my lunch break, so we hung out in Harmony Square for a while together.  It was super hot, so we sat with our feet in the fountain, haha.  & my Mom & sister shared a pizza with me for lunch on Wednesday.  But, no photos... ha.  

This weekend I think Keith and I are going raspberry and/or blueberry picking!  Ooh I actually just looked it up and I think the pick-your-own sweet cherries is happening now, too!  So maybe we'll do that on Saturday!  Haha.  I'm glad Keith is just as into it as I am.  I think his friends are in town for the weekend, so we will probably be hanging out with them on Saturday night.

Other than that, lots of knitting & crocheting to get ready for August!  Haha.  What are you up to this weekend?

The Queen's Quartz!

On July 1st, Nat, Carli & I helped De with her booth at the Canada Day Festival in Brantford.  She sold stuff for her work - the Tip Top Health Shoppe, and for her shop - The Queen's Quartz!  Lots of magical crystals, plus some necklaces that she made and these really pretty clear quartz earrings.  

It was suuuuuuuuuuuuch a hot day but it was filled with lots of good junk food (poutine, hot dogs, cotton candy, slushies... of course!) and we all had a good time just hanging out.  Keith, Tim & Kris joined us later on that night and hung out.  Plus these two adorable kids came by and wanted to learn about every single crystal De has.

I'm super pumped to be sharing a booth with De in Toronto on August 18th.  And we learned a few things from Canada Day, like make sure to have chairs & bring some candles for when it gets darker!  haha. 

Do you guys have any tips for selling stuff at a street fair?  Have you ever done a craft show or anything like that?  What would be some of your MUST BRING items?
