A Peek at My Week... 32!

Got a new salt lamp & a delicious pomegranate/raspberry chocolate bar from Goodness Me.
My Mom & I tried out the new frozen yogurt place downtown.   So delicious.
Went to a tomato taste testing at Walter's Greenhouse.  Discovered some new tomatoes that I'm excited to grow next summer!
So my Nana hates watermelon.  And she loves desserts.  LOOOOOOOOVES desserts.  She's hated watermelon since she was a kid & is convinced that she still hates it.  (Although she likes other melons!)  At the beginning of the summer she said, "I think I'm going to give watermelon another try this summer!" haha so we had this delicious strawberry & banana cake that we brought outside for everyone, and a piece of watermelon for my Nana.  But she was on to us, and made a face at the cake & picked up the watermelon and took a bite.  ...she still hates it, ha.
Went to the frozen yogurt place again, ha.  This time with Keith, Tim & De.
Tim, De, Jesse & Lauren came over and we made plans to buy a cottage.  One day.  Fun night.
Sweet lil' Sophie got baptized.  I got to hang out with her twice in one week.  Awesome, haha.  Also, she said, "Keith" and I think it melted his heart, haha.
Burger Barn.  SO GOOD.  If you are ever in Ontario you have got to go.  Best burger ever.  EVER.  Oh man.  I'm drooling thinking about it, ha.
Celebrated Keith's Mom's birthday.
Ha, looks like I ate a lot of good food this week.  The tomato taste testing was pretty cool, I tried all sorts of new tomatoes and I think my new favourite is black cherry.   Black cherry or pink girl.  Both were delicious.  And since we were pretty much already in Paris, I made sure to stop by the annual tent sale at Mary Maxim & I picked up some new yarn.  So that's always awesome.  On Sunday Sophie got baptized, so Keith & I went to that and afterwards we all went out for lunch.  Then I spent the day in the pool.  I can't believe summer is almost over... so crazy.  Earlier this week Keith, De, Squirt & I tried to go apple picking at the farm we usually pick at, but because of the weird weather earlier this year we weren't able to. Thursday was Keith's Mom's birthday and Nat bought a delicious Skor ice cream cake.  Ice cream cake is the best.  I'm always so bummed that Dairy Queen is closed in December for my birthday, haha.  But, candy cane ice cream is available in December...

This weekend is a long weekend.  Keith has to work on Saturday, but we are planning on going camping Sunday night and maybe Monday, depending on the weather.  I think the hurricane is supposed to make it's way up here around Monday afternoon, so it looks like rain.  I can't believe this will be the second summer in a row that we haven't gone camping until September, haha.  Although we did sleep outside... so that counts, right?

What are you planning on doing this long weekend?

The Cottage

Day 1 & 2 at the cottage.  Delicious food.  Rocks to jump off of.  Super high winds.  Lots of sangria & cheese.  Fun games.  I discovered I love Risk.  We haven't played it since, but it seems every other day I'm saying to Keith, "Let's play Risk!"  haha.   The second day was super windy out and the lake was really rough.  That didn't stop Kris & Keith from swimming across the lake to jump off the rocks though, ha.  I stayed on our side and crocheted, until I almost lost some yarn in the lake & my sangria spilled everywhere.  I hope next year we can go away to a cottage again.  & that Tim and De will be able to join us, too!

The List: July Update!

August is almost over and I'm just now posting my July update for the list... haha.  Whoops.  Anyway, in July I read One Hundred Years of Solitude and What is the What and I re-read Crooked and Better Than Running at Night.  What is the What was amazing, definitely my favourite out of the four.  Have you read any of these books? Or do you have any suggestions for books I should check out?!  So far I'm doing pretty well for my goal of reading 52 books this year.  (As of right now I'm at 33 books.)

Keith, De & I also went blueberry picking in July!  & I made some delicious blueberry scones/biscuits. Yum.  Unfortunately we missed raspberry picking this year and the cherry season was pretty bad because of the warm weather we had in March.  But there's always next year!
Oh & we slept outside!   I'm going to see if Keith will sleep outside with me again before the summer is over, haha.  I love it!  Although waking up super early (& HOT) with the sun isn't the greatest.  But it's fun to fall asleep outside, and Squirt loves it.

I don't think I crossed any movies or shows off my list - I did start to watch Dexter though.  I tried a few years ago and I just couldn't get into it, but I'm now on season 3 & I think it's growing on me, ha.

Did you make any goals for July?  Or any for August, since we're almost done August, ha.

A Peek at My Week... 31!

Bloorcourt!
Mojitos with my Nana.
A giant dragonfly.
Delicious margherita pizza.
Finally getting around to taking photos of the books I read last month, ha.
Starting a new project with yarn I bought in Sudbury.
Mac & cheese from Kenu.
So serious!
Sweet Soph!
I totally had to look at a calendar to see if Bloorcourt was last weekend or the one before that, ha.  It just seemed like it was so long ago!  This week was a good one.  On Tuesday Keith & I went over to Tim and De's for game night and Jess Lee joined us.  We ended up playing Battle of the Sexes and it was HILARIOUS.  I ended up crying from laughing TWICE, ha.  So fun.  Wednesday night Keith & I went to the Rodeo for the final filming of our friend Tristan's movie Fogelmart.  Pretty hilarious.  Keith was a body double and I was part of the crowd, haha.  I can't wait to see the finished movie!  Here's a trailer, if you'd like to check it out.  Last night Keith & I went to dinner with Jesse, Lauren & sweet lil' Sophie.  I could just watch her for hours, haha.  She's the sweetest little kid eva.

Tomorrow morning I think I'm going to Walter's Greenhouse with my Mom for a tomato tasting thing!  You can try out all of the tomatoes that they grew this year so you know which plants to get for next summer.  Awesome.  I love tomatoes.  & then on Sunday Sophie is getting baptized!  I'm hoping to spend some time laying around the pool, too.  What are you up to this weekend?
